Created by the team from Honalee Media Ltd, who have successfully written and produced a wealth of family theatre productions for many years, and are passionate about presenting the finest plays from the foremost playwrights at the highest quality – making Crime and Comedy Theatre Company one of the most exciting professional producers touring the UK today.
Artistic Director Martin Parsons is an experienced writer, director, television & radio presenter and actor. Since graduating from the Academy of Live & Recorded Arts, Martin’s acting credits include touring the country’s theatres in Billy Liar and The Railway Children, appearing in EastEnders and Hotel Babylon, and recording audio adventures for Doctor Who. As well as presenting over two hundred Exploring England programmes, he hosted Yes TV Live for four years, and presented and scripted over fifty episodes of Homesearch.
Wearing his other hat as a children’s writer, Martin has particularly enjoyed creating the pre-school worlds of Marty MacDonald’s Farm, Easter Bunny’s Eggs-ellent Adventures, Crafty’s Creepy Castle and, most popular of all, The Santa Shows!
Producer Kate Ashmead trained at the acclaimed Birmingham School of Speech & Drama and enjoys a successful career as an actor on stage and screen. Varied work ranges from Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit, to Mike Leigh’s Ecstasy, to playing Jake for the BBC’s Tweenies! It has also taken in Educating Rita, Wait Until Dark, Taking Steps and The Importance of Being Earnest on the way. Alongside acting, Kate has established a dual career as a theatre producer. Building on the success of Honalee Media, which entertains tens of thousands of people each year, she looks forward to bringing more classic plays to life and touring timeless drama and comedy to new audiences across Britain. She is also a one-stop shop for theatre bookings, contracting, casting and marketing!
